There are good Watch repairers and bad ones so after three attemps with my local guy I gave up.
Problem
Sekonda from the eighties mechanical manual wind would not complete date change over, my local guy made adjustments or so he said which never fixed the issue.
So a couple of weeks ago I decided to fix it myself after practicing fixing a few cheap watches over the last few months.
The result is:
Date ring was worn so no amount of adjusting would fix this, my local guy I suspect was playing with the spring!!!!
After much searching I found a replacement and the result is my date change over now works.
Good result.
I also relumed the hands it was my first attempt.
I have since found out my local guy is more into clocks so why take on Watch work if he really isn't interested as it will eventually only give him a bad reputation.
Before anyone says I know the date is incorrect as of today but it does work correctly trust me.
