I’m planning on soon buying my first half decent watch. For the past 12 years I’ve had 3 Casio digital watches, two identical with the rubber band which perished after 3 or 4 years and my current with a stainless steel strap.
I have around £250 to spend and I’d really like to get something timeless which will still look good in 20 or 30 years. I really like the Citizen brand. They seem very well regarded, fairly priced and seem to carry a better level of craftsmanship than other similarly priced watches (or at least from the ones I’ve seen in person, i.e. Rotary & Seiko to name a few.). My wife has promised me a Tag Heuer Formula 1 when I buy her an eternity ring, which won’t be for a few years at least. But that’s the exact thing I have in mind.
I wanted to ask what opinions were on the below watch and what recommendations Citizen or not people would make around the £250 price mark? I actually disliked the below watch when I first saw it. However the simple styling has really grown on me and being an ex marine the branding seems fitting, branding would have typically been a massive no no for myself but this is an exception.
