Typical late Friday night here perusing TWF and pondering all things horological and I got to thinking is it possible in this modern day to buy a bad watch?
We all spend a lot of time on here pondering and debating the pros and cons of all different types of watches in all price brackets. In my pondering I started to think about whether or not it was possible to buy a bad watch from one of the accepted/ established watch brands i.e. your Casios, Seikos, Citizens, Tissots etc? I'm not including really really cheap brands in this pondering of mine i.e. your Sewors etc (sorry Rog )
Now to qualify what I mean by bad - that is something not really fit for purpose i.e. it struggles to keep time or something made of really shoddy materials that again make it unfit for purpose for whatever reason. Would it be possible for an unsuspecting non-watch enthusiast (yes they do exist ) to be caught out with a piece of cr@p if buying even the cheapest option from any of the established brands? Or have all of the said established brands upped their game so much that you have no need to worry about quality or reliability at any of the price brackets?
Thoughts fellow watch enthusiasts?
