Been looking at (new) watches in various locations, from low to high end, and where they give a half decent side shot - it seems to me that most crystals stand proud of the surrounding bezel. Whenever i've chipped or broken a crystal it's always been as a result of it being slightly raised up. Is this a genuine design feature (and if so to what end) or just poor finishing, as it even seems to apply to the Rolex pics I was looking at just now on the net and i'm guessing that's therefore an intended feature.
Thoughts?
